1993 Ford Probe
This is the car that started it all! Named the Knightmare this car was built by Tim Knight, Ben’s dad, from the ground up based off the front end of a 1993 Ford Probe found in a junkyard. When they were little both Ben and Stephen helped their father(usually by holding a flashlight) build this car. This is where the deep passion for drag racing that Ben embodies today came from. Ben began his drag racing career behind the wheel of this mean Ford machine and quickly progressed from high 6 second passes down to the low 5 second passes this car is capable of. Unfortunately a string of issues with the transmission kept Ben from ever taking the Knightmare to victory lane, as getting the car to run consistent numbers was an issue, but his talents were evident early as he consistently treed his opponents.
2004 Suzuki Hayabusa
Ben’s championship winning ride! Ben purchased the bike in 2011 with some minor damage to the fairings, but after some hard work and help from a few friends he had it in top notch shape for his first full season in the DER Bracket Racing Series. Running in the low 6-second range for the 1/8th mile, Ben added nitrous to the bike at the end of the 2011 season, and dipped into the 5’s for the first time on this bike. In the 1/4 mile it has seen mid 9 second 150mph plus runs.
2004 Ford Mustang
Dubbed the Knightmare 2 this build began in 2004 with a chrome-moly chassis from Suncoast Race Cars in Florida. It took quite a while to complete the build, as almost all of it was done by Tim Knight himself, but in 2011 this bad machine finally took to the track for the first time. While we are still working some of the new car bugs out, Tim piloted the car to a 5.17 at Thunder Valley. This car is fully capable of seeing the high 4 second range, and Ben will likely be the person to make that run early next year.
2006 Kawasaki ZX-14
Our newest ride was added this winter. Stephen will be the one piloting this bike most of the time, although Ben will use it some as well. We plan to run this bike as a Crazy 8’s bike as well as Street ET, and probably any other class we can get in!
