In just his first full year of motorcycle racing Ben piloted his ’04 Hayabusa to a track championship in the DER Bracket Racing Series at Thunder Valley!
Ben made it to 7 finals in the motorcycle class of the DER series, but even more impressive came away with a win 5 of those times, including the illustrious NHRA National Dragster Challenge where he won one of the rare 60th Anniversary pewter Wally’s!
Overall Ben had an awesome 42-10 round record in the Motorcycle class during the 2011 season! Not one to be easily satisfied though Ben also competed in the Sportsman class in the DER series and despite having to change rides half-way through the season managed a 5th place finish while making it to 2 finals!
Ben was born in 1987 in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. As a youngster Ben spent his weekends at either the dragstrip with his father or the dirt track with his uncle; often times both. In 2005 he graduated high school and accepted an offer to attend James Madison University. At JMU he was a member of the Men’s Track and Cross-Country program until the program was cut in 2007. Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Science in May, 2009 and started his new job at Bristol Dragway only two days later. Not long after his arrival in Thunder Valley Ben was introduced to Jerry Turner at JTRacing and the rest is history! A fast study and hard worker it wasn’t long until Ben was goin’ rounds on his ’04 Hayabusa! When he’s not racing Ben enjoys a variety of activities, from hunting and fishing to running and occasionally playing golf.
Stephen is a “Double-Duke”, graduating from James Madison University with a B.S. in Computer Science in 2011 and a M.S. in Computer Science in 2012.
